Breach of Trust

The grand inauguration of Ram Mandir on 22 January 2024 fulfilled the dreams of crores of devotees. However, the shocking revelation of large-scale theft of donations has dealt a severe blow to public trust.

According to the SIT report, multiple cases of theft were caught on CCTV within just 45 days. Eight people responsible for counting donations have been arrested and ₹79 lakh recovered.

Devotees who once donated generously with closed eyes are now looking at donation boxes with suspicion. Daily cash collection has reportedly declined.

The resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra have not fully restored confidence. The government and trust now face the tough task of rebuilding the shattered faith of millions through transparent investigation and accountability.
