Law enforcement agencies cracked down on counterfeiting rings across two states, unearthing a fake pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Dehradun and an illegal cigarette factory in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

- Dehradun Fake Medicine Factory: A joint operation by Uttar Pradesh's FSDA and Ghaziabad Crime Branch raided a factory in Dehradun's Parwal area, uncovering counterfeit production of leading pharma brands including Cipla, Lupin, Dr. Reddy's, Mankind, Abbott, and Sun Pharma. The packaging was so meticulously copied that even retailers could be deceived. Samples have been sent for lab testing.
- Muzaffarpur Illegal Cigarette Factory: In Bihar, police and an ITC intelligence team raided a factory in Turki's Lakkhi Nandlalpur village, seizing fake Gold Flake cigarettes worth lakhs, raw materials, and advanced machinery imported from Vietnam valued at around 5 crore rupees.
