Names of 6 Martyrs of Operation Sindoor Revealed

The names of six Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during Operation Sindoor in May 2025 have been officially released and added to the Roll of Honour at the National War Memorial.

This is the first official confirmation by the government regarding casualties in the four-day cross-border operation aimed at destroying terrorist infrastructure.

Martyrs’ Names and Units:

• Subedar Major Pawan Kumar – Headquarters 10 Infantry Brigade
• Rifleman Sunil Kumar, Vir Chakra – 4 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry
• Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar – 5 Field Regiment
• Aviation Technician Mood Murlinayak – 851 Light Regiment
• Havildar Sunil Kumar Singh – 237 Field Workshop Company
• Sergeant Surendra Kumar, Vayu Medal – 39 Wing

The operation was conducted jointly by the Army, Air Force and other forces to strengthen national security. The inclusion of these names on the National War Memorial is a mark of respect and recognition of their supreme sacrifice.
