Sanjay Raut Claims Fadnavis May Move to Center Amid Potential Cabinet Reshuffle

The political landscape in Maharashtra has been set abuzz by the provocative claims of senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Member of Parliament, Sanjay Raut. During a recent visit to Nagpur, Raut asserted that if there is a potential cabinet expansion or major reshuffle at the central level in the coming one to two months, its repercussions could be felt deeply within the power structure of Maharashtra. Raut speculated that such a development might lead to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis being moved to the national capital to take on a significant central responsibility. In this scenario, he suggested that a senior Bharatiya Janata Party minister from the state could be elevated to the position of Chief Minister, marking a pivotal transition in the state's governance.

Raut confirmed that invitations for this movement have been extended to all Hindutva-aligned organizations, and he specifically mentioned that a formal invitation has been sent to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as well. He expressed hope that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat would either attend or send a representative to support the demand for transparency, framing the movement not just as a political event but as a collective endeavor of devotees concerned with the integrity of the temple trust.

Beyond the internal state politics, Sanjay Raut also commented on national legislative matters, specifically reacting to the recent correspondence from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge has advocated for an all-party meeting ahead of the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament to discuss the sensitive issue of delimitation. Raut expressed his party's alignment with Kharge's stance, emphasizing the need for broad political consensus on such a consequential subject. The central government is anticipated to present the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill during the monsoon session, which reportedly includes provisions for increasing the total number of Lok Sabha seats to 850, necessitating a fresh delimitation process across the country.
