The Complete List of the 100 Kauravas: The Story of Dhritarashtra and Gandhari's Children

In the ancient epic of Mahabharata, Maharishi Vaishampayana recounts the history of the Kuru dynasty to King Janamejaya. The story of the birth of the 100 Kauravas, born to King Dhritarashtra and Queen Gandhari, is a significant part of this lineage. According to the narrative, their order of birth was determined by the sequence in which their fleshy embryos were placed in earthen pots by Maharishi Veda Vyasa.

The narrative emphasizes that while Duryodhana was the eldest, his birth was marked by inauspicious omens, leading Vidura to advise against accepting him, though Dhritarashtra's paternal attachment prevailed. Each of these brothers later became skilled warriors, contributing to the complex and fateful events of the Kurukshetra War.
