US-Iran Deal in Jeopardy, Fresh Clashes in Hormuz

📅 June 28, 2026 🏷️ International
Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated again. After Iran attacked a Singapore-flagged cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, the US responded with airstrikes targeting Iranian missile, drone storage, and coastal radar sites.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the strikes. President Trump called Iran’s action a “foolish violation” of the ceasefire agreement.

In retaliation, Iran launched drone attacks on Bahrain, where the US Fifth Fleet is headquartered. Bahrain strongly condemned the attack.

The fresh clashes raise serious concerns about the stability of the recently negotiated interim peace deal between the two countries.
